March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month
If we haven't known each other long, this might be a surprise. I am a colon cancer survivor. I will be retelling my story from July 2021 to the present over the course of this month, as March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. I have shared three of these posts previously, but never got around to completing the remaining tales sitting in my drafts until now. It is SO hard on me to revisit that period, but also relieving and therapeutic. Talk about a mixed bag of emotions. 😮 It's been eye-opening even now, after 4+ years, to go back and read what I managed to put into journal form when I wasn't sleeping my days away.
I am always taken aback when a celebrity near my ages passes away, and even more so when the cause is something I have survived. It's no wonder then that when I read of James Van Der Beek's death not very long ago that I took the news hard. A quick Google search will show several more celebrities who have succumbed to this horrible disease. Chadwick Boseman also lost his fight to colon cancer, at my current age. I have no doubt in my mind that my faith and the prayers of my support system helped to bolster my strength in Christ to fight the hardest fight of my life.

I have also decided to be very vulnerable here and put a form on this post for anyone to ask questions anonymously. I suppose you could tell me in your response who's asking the question if your really want. I will be answering some of the questions later this month in a Q + A post, if I get enough responses.
Thank you for joining me on this journey!
