Today's prompt is the word "BENEDICTION".

Yes, I had to look it up. 🫣

Anyway... 5 minutes on my timer, and GO!

First, I really did have to look up the word 'benediction'. It took me a bit of thinking after looking up the definition to think of whether I participate in and such practices. After a small amount of thinking, I realized that this is something that all of the women in my not-so-small-group Bible study do quite often. The group my husband and I joined about 6 years ago has been meeting for nearly 30 years at this point. As such, there have been a lot of weddings and babies in the last few years. And every bridal or baby shower is finished the same way- singing a benediction over the guest of honor either before or after we take turns praying for the person. The song we sing is Kari Jobe's "The Blessing". It's so good, and so apropriate for those starting their family life together.
