Longing [Five Minute Friday Link-up]

I need to get myself back into the habit of writing consistently, and I found a fun way to practice by being part of this Five Minute Friday link-up . All I have to do is write unedited for five minutes, post a link to my writing and encourage another participant or two via encouraging comments. I can do that! Nurture - Five Minute Friday Link-up 2/27/2026

[NURTURE] 00:05:00 on the timer and GO! The first thing I thought of when I saw that today's prompt was "nurture" was the orchid sitting on my kitchen counter. I have what people call a black thumb. I mean, I have even managed to kill snake plants and probably at least one other plant toted to be UNkillable. Just give it to Pam, it'll be dead soon. Now, why then do I have a orchid sitting on my counter? It was a surprise Valentin'es gift from my sweet husband. I had, in fact, managed to kill an orchid before, but he knew that I had kept it alive for a long time. Sure it needed some loving from a friend to be revived at one point, but I was proud of how well I had managed to nurture that plant. And he knew, and wanted to see me do it again.
