Beloved Daughter of God

I believe that

Wife

I have been married to my husband since June of 2004.

Mother

We have children that were born in 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2012.

Child 1 is quiet but feisty, and is a talented artist. You will be seeing her artwork on here as much as I can convince her to share--or pay her for her efforts! She is also an animal lover. When she's not in school or running, she can be found hanging out with any number of critters--could be the chinchillas, the goose, the chickens, the rabbits, the cats, or one of the dogs. She's amazing with all of them, and we often call her "the critter whisperer".

Child 2 is an unexpected blessing that sent me down my first full-fledged detour of life. I mean none of that in a negative way-- he simply changed our plans. He is our reader and thinker. He has decided to join the school Robotics team and he is having a great time. He also loves to remind me that he is now taller than I am.

Child 3 is a firecracker. She is adamant about what she wants, and she is not afraid to let you know. I feel like she and I are very similar, but with opposite personalities. Or at least different volume levels. I know, that doesn't make much sense...but...it does. She loves to dance and spend time with her friends.

Child 4 came after we thought we were done at 3 kids. After an emergency surgery in 2011 that could have resulted in an inability to have any more children, we decided we weren't done having kids after all. This one is ALL boy and can almost always be found outside. Whether it's fishing, playing ball, or pestering his siblings, he prefers to be out in nature.

I think our not-so-little family is complete here...but I also know better than to tell God your plans. He has a way of changing them on you with little to no notice. 😉

Sister - Friend

I have a big family. My parents raised four daughters; we are all now married with kids. Family get-togethers are filled with food and fun and noise and laughter. Our relationships aren't perfect, but we do all know we love each other, even in our craziness.

I have also been blessed with a handful of sisters-in-Christ. They are wise, and they know what questions to ask to bring me out of the shell I tend to wear around other people. We have joined a Bible study group at our small church and we couldn't ask for better friends, especially as a Christian couple.

Wannabe Writer

Phew...feels weird even writing it out.

Cancer Warrior

As you may already know, I am currently fighting colon cancer. I was diagnosed in July of 2021, had a successful surgery in August, and started chemotherapy in September. I'm not giving up the fight, and I am winning. My family and my community in general have been amazing and supportive.

Pampered Chef Independent Consultant

I may or may not start this up again. The last few months have been permeated by fighting colon cancer.

I started my Pampered Chef journey by "kit-napping" in order to get a sweet deal on the PC Quick Cooker in 2020. It didn't take me long to realize that I do thoroughly enjoy creating meals and memories, and that PC products help to make the process a little bit easier. I seem to get lots of comments/likes when sharing my meals on social media...so why not tie it to a business?

You can visit my "Mama's Meals + More" facebook page here, or the corresponding Instagram page here. I have a notion in the back of my head to start a YouTube channel for this endeavor as well, but that's at least several months out. I have a LOT of research to do before I decide whether or not to tackle that big of a beast!

Struggling to keep my priorities in that order

Aren't we all?
